“Booze It & Lose It” Released Nationally

ADVANCE, N.C. – Dick Barnes announces the national release of his country song “Booze It & Lose It,” which was originally available only in North Carolina. The “Booze It & Lose It” single shares the goal of the campaign with the same name – to raise awareness of and prevent drunk driving.

Of the release, Barnes says, “The greatest accomplishment of any songwriter or musician is the creation of a song that has a positive impact on the lives of those who hear it. I am confident the ‘Booze It & Lose It’ song will continue to contribute to saving lives on our highways by encouraging those that drink to think twice and act responsibly before driving impaired.”

IGO Records has included the single, which is being promoted by Airplay Specialists Radio Promotion, as part of a compilation released by CDX Music to over 2,000 country stations.

In North Carolina, the song has been championed by the Governor’s Highway Safety Program, the Highway Patrol and the commissioner of the Department of Insurance, Jim Long. Mothers Against Drunk Driving has also applauded the release.

Booze It & Lose It is a powerful message that we need to eliminate drunk driving
Reviewer: Chuck Hurley, CEO, Mothers Against Drunk Driving
We have made great progress since MADD's founding in 1980. But it still is the most tolerated, frequently commited violent crime in America. We need to support law enforcement, stop the "catch and release" approach by the courts, make ignition interlocks required for all convicted drunk drivers, and work for advanced technology that will not allow drunk drivers to start their vehicles in the coming years.

Great song and it will help to save lives on the highway
Reviewer: Jim Long, NC Commissioner of Insurance
The music is great and it brings a message of highway safety. This song should be on every juke box in every bar and played before closing time to save lives.

Roaring out of the Carolina dirt roads loaded with a humorous but serious message
Reviewer: Jack Wood
Dick captures the flavor of Carolina humor and the heritage of "southern" moonshine and politics to bring a serious message about "drinking and driving". This high stepping country tune is bound to impart to the listener an entertaining reminder that "Drinking and Driving" is a recipe for trouble. A salute to the Law Enforcement Officers who keep our highways safe, "Booze It & Lose It" is a favorite I keep playing over and over. Great Job Dick!

A Humerous approach to get your attention with a serious message..

This song is very well sung, well written and entertaining. The message is one that resonates throughout the music listening public, not necessarily just with country music fans.

Love to listen.

This song is a great country music song, and is very well written. The lyrics are also a very great way to get the word out about how drinking and driving is a bad thing.

Good sounds, great beat,& message. Hope to hit home...

A good message and the music is electrifying. Banjo sound is great.
Reviewer: Mazie Laurence
A message song with a country flair is very appealing. I really like the upbeat tempo and the sound of the banjo in the middle is a real plus. This is the kind of song that Hank Williams Jr. would do. Even Alan Jackson might do it justice with his kind of laid-back smooth presentation. The tune is unique and rousing. I like it very much. I like the message, but the music is outstanding.

Great Song! ~ High Spirited and Straight Forward ~
Reviewer: John Minges
